5th Annual End-of-Life Doula International Research Symposium

Please join us online on 6–7 November 2026 for the 5th Annual End-of-Life Doula International Research Symposium: Producing Knowledge, Shaping Practice.

Hosted by the End-of-Life Doula International Research Group (EOLD-IRG), the symposium brings together end-of-life doulas, researchers, practitioners and community members from different parts of the world to share emerging research, exchange ideas and explore how knowledge can help shape the future of end-of-life doula support.

This year’s programme has presenters joining us from Puerto Rico, Portugal, Brazil and Australia. Alongside research presentations, the symposium will include interactive workshops, creating opportunities to explore ideas in greater depth, reflect on practice, make connections and learn together.

The symposium is designed for everyone with an interest in end-of-life doula work - you do not need to identify as a researcher to take part. Research beings with curiosity about practice, experience and the questions that matter to us, and the symposium offers a space to connect that curiosity with emerging knowledge from across different cultural and practice contexts.
