Many people have heard of end-of-life doulas (or death doulas), but they often don't deeply understand the what, how, when, where, and why of doula work. This 1.5-hour class takes a deep dive into doula work from an experienced end-of-life doula, explaining the ins and outs of doula work. Attendees will walk away with a comprehensive understanding of exactly what type of work they can expect to engage in with a doula and how this work brings significant benefits to clients--with many real-life examples provided across all topics to increase understanding. Topics covered include:
How doulas help clients go much further into their advance directives, surpassing standard forms and making sure clients' wishes are accurately considered, expressed, and protected. Jane will pose questions that you may realize you don't know the answer to!
You'll end the class with a good idea of what to look for in a doula and how to determine if someone is a good fit for you. There will be time for Q&A before the course ends.
